Cold wave continues in Delhi. The sky of Delhi has remained hazy since morning. At some places dense and at other places extremely dense fog was seen. Due to cold, people are burning bonfires at various places.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted severe cold in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan for the next two days. During this period, dense fog will also prevail in northwest India. Fresh Western Disturbance is also going to have an impact and due to this, there is a possibility of heavy and light rain at some places along with thunderstorms in the areas of North-West and Central India from 8 to 10 January. Apart from this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the southern peninsular areas with heavy rain at some places in Tamil Nadu for the next five days and Kerala for the next two days.
The chill has increased due to the cold winds blowing in Delhi-NCR. The sun did not shine even on Saturday. It remained cloudy throughout the day. However, due to change in the direction of winds, a slight increase in temperature was recorded. There are chances of increase in temperature in the coming days also. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, the maximum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 15.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday, which is four degrees less than normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 8.9 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees more than normal. On Saturday, there was a severe cold day like situation in most areas of Delhi. The weather remained cold since morning. People felt shivering due to lack of sunlight even in the afternoon. The cold also increased as the evening approached.
